The Salem, Oregon business law and litigation attorneys at Fetherston Edmonds, LLP are continuing the tradition of excellence established over half a century ago by original firm founders Edward L. Clark, Jr. and Malcolm Marsh. Today, Ben Fetherston and Jim Edmonds are joined by a team of transactional attorneys and courtroom lawyers capable of providing sound advice and effective representation to some of the nation's largest corporations.
Ben, Jim, and partner Steve Lippold have each been associated with the firm for over 20 years, maintaining a continuity and connection with the firm's rich history. Together with partner Jeff Trautman, the attorneys at Fetherston Edmonds strive to uphold the firm's distinguished reputation, as evidenced by the firm's long-standing AV Preeminent rating by Martindale Hubbell and designation in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers for both General Practice and Civil Trial Practice. In addition, individual members of the firm have been recognized by SuperLawyersmagazine, among other accolades.
A History of Excellence
Co-founder Malcolm Marsh helped lead the firm for more than three decades until 1987, when he was appointed to the federal bench by President Reagan to serve as a Judge for the U.S. District Court for Oregon. Founding attorney Ned Clark, whose remarkable career was further distinguished by serving as President of the Oregon State Bar, continued to practice law until retiring in 1995.
In 1969, Eric Lindauer joined the firm as an associate, becoming partner in 1972. Eric developed a highly successful mediation and labor arbitration practice and lectured frequently on the topics, most notably at Pepperdine University's annual conference on arbitration and mediation. Eric moved his practice to Portland in 2008.
Ben Fetherston joined the firm in 1986 after practicing in Portland for five years. Ben recently served as Chairman of the Board for the Associated Oregon Industries, an Oregon business lobby headquartered in Salem and Chairman of the AOI PAC.
Jim Edmonds' association with the firm began as a law clerk in 1984. He became an associate in 1986 and made partner in 1989. Jim's successful litigation career includes favorable verdicts in numerous counties throughout western, southern and eastern Oregon. Jim served as the President of the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel in 2003.
Steve Lippold began his career with the firm as a law clerk from 1987 to 1989. Upon graduation from law school, he joined the Seattle firm of Williams, Kastner & Gibbs, returning to Fetherston Edmonds as an associate in 1990 and becoming a partner in 1994. In addition to his appellate law practice, Steve joins Jim Edmonds in the firm's commercial law and personal injury litigation practice.
Jeff Trautman also clerked with Fetherston Edmonds while in law school, joining the firm as an associate in 2004. Jeff became a partner in 2008 and continues to develop his practice in the areas of business law and real estate.
