Christopher B. Matheny
Christopher ("Chris") B. Matheny is an accomplished attorney with over twelve years of legal experience and is a partner at Fetherston Edmonds, LLP. Chris joined the firm in January 2012. Prior to joining the firm, he worked with David Hilgemann at the Law Offices of David Hilgemann.
Chris' practice focuses on real estate law transactions and business law. He represents clients throughout the states of Oregon and Washington. Chris assists individuals, small companies, and large multi-state businesses in all matters relating to their operations. This includes assisting his clients in the buying and selling of real estate, drafting leases and rental agreements, foreclosing on properties and representing landlords in tenancy disputes. He also specializes in commercial property issues by representing commercial property management companies throughout the Willamette Valley.
Chris also assists clients in various disputes and has handled cases at all stages of litigation.
Chris has earned a solid reputation in the area of business law and brings considerable experience to bear as he advises small businesses and individuals in all matters. His active practice focuses on corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, business sale transactions and employment law.
Chris has a strong commitment to his client's goals and interests which is evidenced by his many longstanding clients.
Chris, a graduate of Willamette University College of Law, participates in the mentor program where he works with first year law students to assist in exposing them to the practice of law. In January of 2003, Chris was recognized as the Pro Bono New Young Attorney of the Year by the Marion County Bar Association.
Chris is an active member of his local church and community, and one of the founding board members of the non-profit Wide Awake International, Inc. Wide Awake works with disabled and orphaned children around the world.
Chris and his wife have three young daughters. Chris' wife, Sarah, is an accomplished author who has appeared on the New York Times best seller list. When Chris is not practicing law, his interests include spending time with his family, reading, and rooting for the Seattle Mariners and the Portland Trailblazers.
